Main regions of origin
The chestnut is a hearty tree which often grows close to vinyards. The growth rings are visible and give the wood a typical aspect. Longitudinal cuts show patterns and bands which lend this wood of an amber to dark brown colour a decorative character. Wide pores form precise vein lines lengthwise.
